Long Bio:

Forged from the darkest minerals, Derik Julien is a self-renewing artist and writer (b. ‘91 in Toronto, Canada). He’s been described as a mythical creature choosing words that carry the energy of a philosopher. His work examines proportions out in society, inner worlds and light or tumultuous trials of the heart and mind.

As a mystic and wayfarer, he’s on a never ending journey towards the muse. Steady influenced by the east wind; a place where brevity and minimalism are encouraged. While cherishing life, he embraces the unconscious processing of ideas as they shape. There are no velleities when it comes to breathing life into the visionary concepts that present themselves.

Dexs’ artistry continues to evolve and through notebook observations, fearless experimentation and an immersive writing style; we can always expect a new form to emerge. The maze-like layers of his writing only compound with each listen at a granular level. Right at the core, he is a recluse who has created soul-turning ⑉ life-altering projects for all to discover.

He’s collaborated on high-concept art with bucket list artists Skyzoo, Blu, eLZhi, sene, Maiko Munroe and Georgia luminaries of ReignCloud: Rey Morado, the bum., Laxx P, Svnthltr and Carla the Poet. After 328 songs and 3 books, he is moving further into the literary world crafting short story compendiums.
