My nouveau experiment and audio journey is one of looking at the past while honoring the present. Specifically giving the late producer extraordinaire J Dilla his flowers if you will. While transcending time rocking over his soundscapes, you’ll hear a multiplicity of craftsmanship. The attention to detail is unmatched and way ahead of it’s time. The stateside legend Rey Morado appears midway just in time for the convocation. Whats left as a result are sculptures of provenance from two of the best to ever do it. Dilla moved on in 2006 from a rare blood disease called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. He was only 32 but by then had influenced the entire music industry. His mother and the Dilla Foundation fought hard to protect his legacy. There is a street in France named after him called “Allé e Jay Dee”. Some of his equipment has been donated to the Museum Of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC. This is my artistic contribution to the list of Dilla tributes done worldwide over time.
