Entry #22 (Findings from Research Level 21)
Now onto goals and desires surrounding chronic migraines. To assemble as many tools as one can to combat the Neurological disorder and live a better life. Relieving muscle tension seems to be crucial in treating the form of migraine that I have. I will consider implementing nightly rituals to relax the back, neck and shoulders muscles. Closing one's eyes is also a big help. A coworker suggested putting cucumbers over both eyes while lying down. This process is supposed to feel like the extraction of all of the light that your eyes have consumed throughout the day. A good goal to have as a migraine sufferer is to change the locust of control from migraine controlling patient to patient controlling migraine. It would be wonderful to have consistent daily manageable migraines instead of debilitating ones that cause disruption to one's life. Lowering the frequency of pain would be great as well moving from chronic pain to episodic pain. Taha now this feels like a Christmas wish list. Ideally, taking one abortive pill per week would be great as a rule of thumb (that would be roughly 50 pills per year). The next question should be who has the best track record for curing migraines in the following cities: Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. If there is a person, do they have a treatment plan that is more holistic-based rather than pharmaceutical-based.
